Perform upgrades, application patches and all other maintenance on the test, demo, development and production databases, process schedulers, web servers and file servers for the student, financial and campus portal systems; that's a mouthful but that's what I did. Work alongside the Lead Database Administrator and Security Analyst ensuring all systems and environments abovementioned have the required patches applied, including identifying new patches, verifying upgrade paths and requisites for patches, downloading, building installation projects, preparing custom installation documentation, and ultimately performing the actual upgrades while keeping highly detailed and organized records. Cleaning and maintaining databases after audits and upgrades, verifying and repairing or removing broken queries and cleaning out dead tables, views, indexes and records, which requires working closely with a team of Enterprise Application Analysts in their specialized areas and during security issues or regarding account creations, with the Security Officer.
